Wellness from the inside out through energy rebalancing

You can expect a typical session with me to include an intake portion plus some combination of any of the following modalities: acupuncture, cupping, guasha, moxibustion or electrical stimulation. We will also discuss herbs, supplements and dietetics, creating a customized regimen for you depending on your unique needs.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a gentle, safe, and effective way to restore balance to the body. It is steeped in thousands of years of ancient tradition and wisdom. Using ultra thin needles, points on specific meridians corresponding to different organs are selected and stimulated. Acupuncture works by increasing blood flow and circulation, releasing endorphins and shutting off the sympathetic nervous system, allowing the body to rest and recalibrate.

Cupping

Cupping is a fantastic way to release any stagnation or tension in the body, particularly on the back. It is especially useful in dispersing pathogens during the early or end stages of an upper respiratory infection. Cupping can reduce inflammation, increase mobility and alleviate aches or pains.

Guasha

Guasha is a manual therapy utilizing the edge of a natural stone to gently scrape the surface of the skin. This technique encourages lymphatic movement and drainage, as well as blood flow and circulation, making it an ideal treatment option for neck pain, headaches and even migraines. Guasha has been found to support graceful aging by regenerating the blood and is commonly used within facial rejuvenation treatments along with acupuncture.

Moxibustion

Also known as “moxa”, this therapy utilizes mugwort (artemisia vulgaris) which some refer to as the “dream herb” because of its sleep-inducing qualities. Similar to an incense stick, moxa is burned close to the skin to further enhance the therapeutic effect of the needled points. By oxygenating the cells with fresh blood, moxa supports metabolic function and brings warmth back to the body, while activating a peaceful state of bliss with its nurturing scent.

Herbal Medicine

A rich and potent way to further support wellbeing. Recommendations are tailored to each individual based on their unique constitution and diagnosis. Because some herbs are contraindicated in specific conditions, a thorough intake of medical history is necessary prior to prescribing herbal formulas. Orders are placed online through sustainable and local herb companies and can be shipped directly to your home. Some herbal and supplemental inventory is available in person for purchase as well.

Fertility acupuncture

The goal of TCM is to help regulate the menstrual cycle and to promote fertility naturally. Acupuncture has been shown to improve fertility outcomes, especially when combined with IVF. By reducing stress, promoting relaxation and alleviating the nervous system, these treatments encourage blood flow to the reproductive organs and regulate the hormones, improving egg quality/uterine lining and lowering inflammation. Male partners can also benefit from these treatments and are encouraged to do so.

cosmetic acupuncture

A whole body approach to achieving vibrant, glowing skin starting from the inside out with the nourishment of the internal organs. Acupuncture supports the skin in becoming soft, supple and full of collagen. Japanese needles are used to gently lift and tone facial muscles, while softening wrinkles and brightening the skin. These treatments often incorporate the use of guasha, mini facial cups, and herbal masks to further nourish the skin.

pain management

“Bu Tong Ze Tong, Tong Ze Bu Tong” - where there is inhibited flow, there is pain and where there is free flow, there is no pain. Whether dealing with acute or chronic pain, this is where acupuncture shines the most. By promoting Qi and blood circulation, acupuncture can effectively and naturally manage pain. For specific conditions, other modalities such as cupping, guasha and electrical stimulation may be incorporated to achieve the best results.

general wellness acupuncture

From digestive and autoimmune disorders to allergies and migraines, acupuncture can help you through your specific condition. Because our diagnostics are so different from Western medicine, acupuncture can elegantly address even the most mysterious and complicated of today’s common functional diseases. This is because Chinese medicine helps to uncover the root cause of illness by addressing imbalances in the body, rather than putting a bandaid over symptoms and further suppressing them.

Specialties

Ancient wisdom meets modern day medicine, creating an integrated approach to health and wellness. Similar to the interdependent nature of yin and yang energy, one cannot exist without the other.
